Lender (Loan Officer)

Position Overview:

The Lender maximizes CES Credit Union members' needs for lending transactions by delivering excellent service, ensuring accuracy in loan processing, and maintaining compliance with all lending policies, procedures, and regulations. This role involves guiding members through the loan process, managing applications from start to finish, and fostering strong relationships with members, colleagues, and referral sources.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver outstanding member service by:

• Demonstrating professionalism in all work habits and interactions.
• Understanding and communicating CES Credit Union's loan products, terms, and services.
• Meeting with members/applicants to gather information, answer questions, and guide them through the loan process.
• Process loan applications efficiently by:
• Applying all CES Credit Union policies and procedures to loan requests.
• Approving loans within policy limits or referring them to the appropriate authority.
• Assembling, verifying, and processing all required documentation for timely closings.
• Obtaining and reviewing credit reports and other necessary applicant information.

Maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including:

• Bank Secrecy Act / USA PATRIOT Act / OFAC
• Consumer Credit Protection Laws
• Equal Credit Opportunity Act
• HMDA, RESPA, Privacy
• Support security and risk mitigation procedures.
• Contribute to team goals by collaborating effectively and maintaining high performance standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Associate's degree and/or 2+ years of related lending or financial services experience required.
• Prior credit union or banking experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply lending policies and procedures.
• Competency in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Compensation:

• Pay to commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, non-exempt position eligible for overtime pay.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays as scheduled.
