The Opportunity

How you will make an impact
Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair activities for GIS equipment, including circuit breakers, disconnectors, and earthing switches.
Conduct routine inspections, diagnostic testing, and preventive maintenance on GIS systems to identify and address potential issues.
Troubleshoot complex GIS malfunctions, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
Develop and execute maintenance procedures and schedules in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to technicians and engineers on GIS operation and maintenance.
Collaborate with engineering and project teams on GIS design reviews, upgrades, retrofits, and modifications.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, testing results, and equipment performance data.
Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements during GIS operations and maintenance activities.
Prepare technical reports, service documentation, and recommendations related to GIS performance and reliability.
Support emergency response activities and provide timely assistance during critical equipment failures, as required.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience working with Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) systems.
Strong knowledge of GIS components, operating principles, and common failure modes.
Proven experience in GIS installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
Familiarity with applicable international and national electrical safety standards and regulations.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical drawings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Experience with Hitachi Energy GIS products and systems is considered a strong advantage
