Job details
We are looking for a Chartered Senior Building Surveyor who will play a key role in delivering high-quality professional building surveying services across a diverse portfolio of commercial property and client instructions. The role combines technical excellence, client relationship management, project delivery, and commercial awareness to support both client objectives and the continued growth of the Building Consultancy business.

The Senior Building Surveyor will lead and manage a range of building surveying commissions, provide expert technical advice, support junior team members, and contribute to business development activities. The role requires a strong understanding of building pathology, contract administration, project delivery, and professional consultancy services.

The role would suit an experienced chartered professional who is technically capable, commercially aware and looking to develop their career within a supportive and growing consultancy.

 What you will do
  • Lead the delivery of a broad range of professional Building Surveying instructions, including technical due diligence, building condition surveys, defect investigations, dilapidations and planned maintenance advice.
  • Manage refurbishment, fit-out and improvement projects from inception through to completion, including specifications, tendering, Contract Administration and site inspections.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to clients, providing clear, practical and commercially focused technical advice.
  • Build and develop strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat business and wider consultancy services.
  • Prepare fee proposals, support bids and contribute to team revenue, profitability and business development activity.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Graduate and Assistant Building Surveyors, including supporting APC candidates.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with RICS standards, statutory requirements, internal governance and CHPK quality standards.

Who you are
Ideally, you will have:
  • MRICS status and a degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  •  Strong consultancy experience across professional and project-based Building Surveying services.
  •  Good technical knowledge of commercial property, building pathology, landlord and tenant matters and relevant legislation.
  •  Experience delivering construction, refurbishment and Contract Administration projects.
  •  Strong report writing, client management and business development skills.
  •  Commercial awareness with solid project and financial management experience.
  •  A professional, organised and proactive approach, with strong communication skills and a commitment to quality.
Join us
You’ll be joining a business where your contribution matters and where professionalism, integrity and teamwork are genuinely valued. As part of the wider Celnor Group, you’ll benefit from group-wide investment, shared expertise and opportunities to develop your career as the organisation continues to grow.

  • Hybrid and flexible working options
  • 25 days annual leave, plus your birthday off and Christmas shutdown (2–4 days)
