Description
Function:
Responsible for directly carrying out operating procedures of the HHI Genset, RO Plant, WWTP and its appurtenances in a safe and efficient manner in order to meet the operating objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operates & monitors HHI Genset operation
- Operates & monitors Reverse Osmosis Plant & Waste Water Treatment Plant operation & other utilities (air & nitrogen generators)
- Maintains proper plant records, log sheets and equipment running data sheets
- Prepares equipment for maintenance as specified on the relevant procedure, and permit to work standard. On completion of any maintenance work inspects the plant / equipment for integrity prior to start-up, and when instructed, starts the plant/equipment either for test or return to normal service
- Participates in shift turnovers and maintains written and verbal communication with other Personnel in order to be updated with plant and equipment condition
- Complies with all safety and environmental procedures, permit to work system, task risk analysis, accident / incident / near miss reporting and the use of personal protective equipment
- Operates as a team member, able to coach and mentor others, as necessary, on Refinery operations and safe work practices
- Performs other task that may be assigned by the Terminal Supervisor or Terminal Operations Manager

- Being aware of factors or situations that may impact upon the quality of the product and service and the environment.
- Following implicitly the Company’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy / Procedures / Work Instructions as communicated in writing or as instructions received orally
- Comply with the Company’s procedures and the relevant legislation regarding the Injury Management process.
- To formally report to their Manager any concern or incident / injury / non-conformance in any aspect of their work and complete the Puma Energy PNG Incident / Non Conformance Report form.
- To formally report to their Manager or supervisor any hazard, practice or condition that will affect safety or production or the community.
- All forms are completed as outlined in the procedures
- Any discrepancies of goods / services received are to be addressed through the Non Conformance procedures
- All products are to be verified at appropriate stages as outlined in procedures and a record maintained.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Electrical Trade Certificate or similar
- Relevant refinery or process operating experience in a similar capacity
- Understanding of genset equipment is an advantage
Skills:
- Good computer proficiency skills.
- Basic understanding of fuel and physical principles
- Sound Interpersonal Skill
- Mechanical comprehension ability
Competencies:
- Knowledge in basic instrumentation
- Knowledge in basic electrical troubleshooting
