The OpportunityAs a State and Local Tax - Indirect Tax - Manager, you will provide strategic advice and guidance to clients on indirect tax planning, compliance, and strategy, helping businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimize their tax positions. Within our Tax practice, you will focus on value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), sales tax, and other indirect taxes. As a Manager, you will lead teams and manage client accounts, focusing on strategic planning and mentoring junior staff. You are accountable for project success and maintaining standards, motivating and inspiring others to deliver quality. You will leverage team strengths and manage performance to meet client expectations.
In this role, you will take ownership of projects, confirming their successful planning, budgeting, execution, and completion. You will develop skills outside your comfort zone and encourage others to do the same, effectively mentoring team members. You are expected to lead with integrity and authenticity, articulating our purpose and values in a meaningful way. Embracing technology and innovation, you will enhance your delivery and encourage others to do the same, contributing to the success of our firm.
Responsibilities
- Leading indirect tax planning and compliance initiatives to optimize client tax positions
- Guiding teams in the analysis and identification of system interactions and linkages
- Taking ownership of project planning, budgeting, execution, and completion
- Coaching team members to leverage their strengths and manage performance effectively
- Developing skills outside comfort zones and encouraging team growth
- Utilizing AI fluency and digital tooling to enhance tax strategy and delivery
- Addressing conflicts and engaging in critical conversations with stakeholders
- Upholding professional and technical standards, including PwC tax guidance and code of conduct
- Collaborating on tax dispute resolution and indirect tax controversies
- Reviewing work to deepen team members' skills and knowledge
What You Must Have
- At least a Bachelor's degree
- At least 4 years of experience
- At least one of the following: Certified Public Accountant, Member of the Bar or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity

The salary range for this position is: $99,000 - $266,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
