Job Description
The Security Intern supports the Security team with daily administrative and operational activities that help protect employees, visitors, assets, information, and facilities. This role provides hands-on exposure to corporate security operations while supporting access management, security documentation, reporting, training, confidentiality initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
This internship is ideal for a self-driven and energetic college student with strong communication, presentation, and computer skills who are interested in gaining practical experience within a global manufacturing environment.
Compensation & Schedule
· Starting Pay: $24.51/hr.
· Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
· Preferred Schedule: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
· Afternoon hours may be considered based on business and student availability.
Core Responsibilities
· Support day-to-day activities and administrative functions of the Security team.
· Assist with employee ID badge creation, general access management, and related security processes.
· Support new employee security orientation and assist with the preparation and delivery of security training.
· Create, update, and maintain security-related documentation, procedures, presentations, and reports.
· Support data collection, analysis, KPI reporting, and data visualization using tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Excel.
· Collaborate with internal teams to support visitor management processes and other security-related activities.
· Assist with confidentiality, intellectual property, and novelty protection activities.
· Conduct research and compile information to support Security projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Participate in Security team meetings and contribute ideas for process and operational improvements.
· Support site transition activities and other special projects as assigned.
· Provide administrative and project support to Security leadership and team members.
Work Environment & Flexibility
· Work approximately 20 hours per week within the Security organization.
· Collaborate with Security and cross-functional teams in an office and manufacturing environment.
· Participate in meetings, training activities, presentations, and assigned projects.
· Maintain appropriate confidentiality when working with security-related information and documentation.
· Demonstrate flexibility to support changing team priorities and business needs.
Requirements
· Currently enrolled in a college or university with at least three years of college coursework completed.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong presentation skills and comfort communicating information to others.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Excel.
· Experience with Power BI and other reporting/data visualization tools.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Self-driven, responsible, energetic, and able to take initiative.
· Ability to manage assigned responsibilities with guidance and follow through on commitments.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
· Positive attitude and willingness to learn about corporate security operations.
Technical Skills
· Create professional presentations, reports, and security-related documentation.
· Support data tracking, reporting, and visualization using Power BI, Excel, and related tools.
· Assist with basic access management and employee badge processes.
· Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
· Learn and support applicable security systems, processes, and technology used by the Security team.
Preferred Qualifications
· Students pursuing any field of study are encouraged to apply; Business, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Security, Law, or related coursework may be beneficial.
· Previous work, internship, volunteer, or academic experience involving security, safety, technology, data analysis, training, or business operations.
· Experience creating presentations, reports, dashboards, or other professional communications.
· Interest in corporate security, manufacturing operations, business continuity, or security technology.
