Background
Hyundai Capital UK Ltd is a joint venture operating under Hyundai Finance, Kia Finance, and Genesis Finance brands, offering funding solutions to retailers and consumers.
Job Purpose
Reporting into the Wholesale Credit Manager, the key purpose of this role is to ensure reviews of wholesale facilities are carried out on a regular basis and the data accurately recorded, as well as making appropriate lending recommendations to the correct authority levels within HCUK, Santander and HCS Korea. This role will also be responsible for the structure and negotiation of security arrangements in support of HCUK’s lending proposals, acting as a main point of contact with external legal advisors/solicitors. In this role, you will control and deliver all daily wholesale activities within the scope of the role. We are currently recruiting for 2 positions for this vacancy.
Key Accountabilities
General strategic
Analyse, monitor, control and report on HCUK’s Dealer Wholesale Funding Operations, with specific focus on:
- Assessment and continuous monitoring of all credit risk related aspects of the operation
- Ensuring reviews of new business propositions and existing funding lines are carried out and kept in line with HCUK corporate standards by undertaking appropriate analysis on Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow forecast models provided by dealerships/dealership groups
- Control and development of related wholesale credit policies, procedures, controls and reporting
- Proactively identify opportunities for business and funding product development to help the company achieve its business targets
- Identify and report early signs of risk issues, providing mitigation and conducting site visits to credit watch accounts as required
- Actively contribute to the performance of the Wholesale Risk Team
- Validate and record all data obtained from external operations
- Contribute to the delivery of specified projects as a part of the strategic and operational plans, including supporting budgetary reporting requirements
- Adhere to mandates, all risk policies and actively engage with our conduct risk and customer focused culture.
Technical Knowledge
Maintain up-to-date awareness of all relevant risk, credit, compliance and regulatory requirements, and market best practices and then work with the business and related partners to continually refine HCUK policies and processes. Act as a wholesale risk subject matter expert within the organisation.
Stakeholder engagement
Establish and develop close, effective working relationships internally and with our OEM partners, relevant SCUK and HCS departments, internal and external auditors and other related 3rd party suppliers and organisations.
Communication and Reporting
Establish and maintain effective communications with all related regulatory and compliance bodies, Santander Consumer UK and Hyundai Capital Services head office departments, our OEM partners and other key stakeholders. Working under the guidance of line management, develop and produce a high-quality MI reporting suite/dashboard.
Outsourced Oversight
Within the scope of the role, maintain effective oversight and monitoring of any outsourced or other HCUK department related activities, to ensure performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are delivered, and contractual obligations and charges are verified and audited.
Insight and Continuous improvement
Contribute to an on-going review process to continually improve and refine the department’s QA measures and performance and to ensure continued adherence to legislation, regulation and internal policy.
Risk and Compliance
In line with the company’s risk and compliance objectives, identify risks, incidents and breaches, in accordance with company policies and department procedures.
Responsible use of AI
Use approved AI tools confidently and effectively to support delivery of role objectives, ensuring outputs are accurate, appropriate, explainable and compliant with company policies, data protection requirements, risk and compliance obligations, and any applicable guidance. Proactively maintain and develop AI competency relevant to the role, identifying opportunities to use AI safely and effectively to improve quality, efficiency and decision-making.
Other
Deputise for other team members and represent the Wholesale Risk Department as required. Carry out any other tasks from time to time as may reasonably be requested.

Required Experience and Expertise
Given the scope of this position, it is essential that the successful candidate has the following experience:
- Sound and relevant wholesale credit analysis experience within financial services, preferably automotive related, together with the required interpersonal and communication skills
- Ideally will be well versed in the broader areas of financial services operations including:
- Products and services
- Automotive market
- Financial controls
- Sales processes and channels
- Has a sound understanding of credit risk controls, processes, measures and related MI/reporting and the related technical knowledge
- Has a general sound knowledge of policies and procedures within financial services regulated and compliant environments
- Good numerical and analytical capability with an understanding of key financial ratios
- Can produce sound working documentation and presentations, including business case proposals and requirements, briefs and presentations
- Appreciation of legal, regulatory and compliance issues relating to the provision wholesale credit and preferably understands the retail consumer credit environment and the use of customer data
- Familiar with the principles encapsulated within ‘treating customers fairly’ and operation/conduct risk
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
In addition to the above, candidates are expected to demonstrate a good understanding of the general market sector, sound business acumen, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to engage effectively with senior and Board-level stakeholders.
Other Information
- HCUK employees are currently hybrid working [mixture of home / office]. HCUK’s head office is in Reigate, Surrey. A minimum of two office days per week is required.
- The position may require travel within the UK from time to time, including occasional site visits to dealerships / dealership groups.

Remuneration Package
- Starting salary of approximately £40,000- £45,000 dependent on experience and expertise
