A Brief Overview
This role conducts all activities related to the handling of parts and semi-finished or final products in the warehouse or to/from the production line. Our people are passionate about what they do, the product they sell, and the customers they serve. Your role and responsibilities
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you'll take ownership of our warehousing operations at our Napier site. As part of our warehousing team, you'll be the backbone of our supply chain - ensuring goods flow efficiently from receiving through to dispatch. Your expertise and ability to work at pace will be critical in maintaining our warehouse standards and keeping our operation running smoothly.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Taking personal responsibility for your own safety and that of those around you, following established procedures and reporting hazards promptly
- Picking components from stock for our manufacturing division with precision and efficiency
- Updating Warehouse Management and Inventory Systems updates with attention to detail
- Safely handling stock from parts and semi-finished goods to final products.
- Planning daily operations around expected deliveries, coordinating resources and equipment availability
- Sorting and arranging material for storage according to established procedures, maximising space and accessibility
- Preparing products for transport with care and accuracy
The Warehouse team work closely together to do what is required to get the job done. It's a physical role working primarily inside but also involves some outside work unloading and loading vehicles arriving on site.
Qualifications for the role
- Experience working in a warehouse or similar environment with a sound understanding of warehouse operations
- An understanding of inwards and outwards goods and the world of logistics will be beneficial
- Experience with a Warehouse Management System like SAP would be an advantage
- A positive desire to learn with the ability to navigate computer systems confidently
- A team player with a positive team attitude and a solution-focused approach
- Strong written and spoken communication skills
- Good with numbers
- A current Forklift Licence is desirable; however, necessary training will be provided
