Summary
Coordinates activity of pharmacy technicians, interns, and various operations of the pharmacy department along with the Pharmacy Leadership team. Develops, recommends, and executes process improvement initiatives. Coordinates annual flu campaign, scheduling, payroll adjustments, attendance tracking, and training.
Job Duties
- Fills medication orders from computer generated labels.
- Assists with the daily operations of the pharmacy. Collaborates with Pharmacy Systems Technician.
- Provides oversight of API and payroll. Assists employee with follow-up on payroll when discrepancies arise.
- Coordinates special events emergency drug supply.
- Coordinates and assigns all staff with floor inspections.
- Plans the flu procurement, storage, and return process for the annual flu season.
- Maintains nursing unit, "clinic", and event floor stock.
- Prepares schedules for technician staff across the network. Creates and maintains holiday schedule for technicians.
- Implements and/or participates in department quality improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year pharmacy or supervisory experience.
- Knowledge and ability to use any technology, equipment, or computers necessary for preparation and distribution of medications.
- Knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical and medical terminology, as well as pharmaceutical calculations.
- Experience with MS office (Word and Excel).
- CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board within 180 Days and
- RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree with a Healthcare focus.
- 5 years in hospital pharmacy environment.

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
