801 BroadwayPosition Summary:
EBNHC is seeking to hire a Dietary Assistant in Neighborhood PACE. A Dietary Assistant provides nutritional assistance under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian. Duties include set up, preparation, and serving of meals. Ensures that kitchen, kitchen equipment, food storage areas, food and other supplies are maintained in accordance with policy, procedure and food safety standards. Health Aides encouraged to apply.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares meal plates and snacks for distribution to participants in the PACE Center.
- Checks and records temperature of food before serving.
- Checks and records refrigerator and freezer temperatures at beginning and end of shift.
- Maintains cleanliness and order in kitchen and food supply areas. Ensures cleanliness of refrigerators and freezer. Completes weekly cleaning log.
- Maintains inventory of food and food related supplies, including emergency food supplies. Works with dietitian to order food. Orders supplies and stock items as approved.
- Monitors expiration dates, rotation and storage of food to ensure all food products are labeled and dated as per policy guidelines.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Certified Nurse Aide or Health Aide Certification preferred
- A minimum of one year experience working with a frail or elderly population.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills; bilingual a plus.
- Flexibility, initiative, creativity and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn and efficiently utilize job-related software and computer systems.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
