Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Safety Coordinator - Saudi National to join our team!
The Safety Coordinator will support the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements across assigned project areas. The role will assist the HSE team in conducting site inspections, monitoring contractor compliance, identifying hazards, maintaining HSE records, and promoting safe working practices.
The position will work under the direction of the HSE Manager and Senior HSE Coordinators and will coordinate closely with project stakeholders to ensure compliance with approved HSE procedures, risk assessments, method statements, and project requirements.
What You'll Be Doing:
Support the implementation of the Project HSE Plan, procedures, and site safety requirements.
Conduct routine site safety inspections and safety walks under the direction of senior HSE personnel.
Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, hazards, and potential risks and report them to the responsible HSE personnel.
Monitor compliance with approved Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA/JHA), and Method Statements.
Ensure workers follow established safe work practices and approved control measures.
Support monitoring of Permit to Work (PTW) requirements for applicable activities.
Monitor basic high-risk activities including work at height, excavation, lifting operations, hot work, confined spaces, electrical activities, and equipment operations.
Support implementation of airport / airside safety requirements where applicable.
Monitor appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Check housekeeping, access and egress, barricading, warning signs, lighting, and general site safety conditions.
Report unsafe conditions and follow up with supervisors and contractors on corrective actions.
Assist with maintaining safe work zones, exclusion areas, pedestrian routes, and traffic controls.
Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site safety awareness activities.
Support site induction activities for workers and visitors.
Assist in monitoring worker competency and required HSE training records.
Verify availability and proper use of required safety equipment and emergency facilities.
Participate in inspections of fire extinguishers, first-aid facilities, emergency equipment, and other safety provisions.
Assist in monitoring safe storage and handling of materials, chemicals, and hazardous substances.
Support environmental requirements including waste segregation, housekeeping, spill prevention, dust control, and pollution prevention.
Report incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions immediately to the HSE team.
Assist in gathering information and evidence for incident and near-miss investigations.
Support implementation and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain HSE inspection checklists, observations, photographs, reports, and supporting records.
Assist in maintaining HSE registers and databases.
Support preparation of daily and weekly HSE reports.
Assist with monitoring HSE observations, corrective actions, and close-out status.
Participate in emergency drills, evacuation exercises, and safety campaigns.
Support implementation of heat stress, worker welfare, and occupational health requirements.
Attend construction coordination meetings when required and provide HSE observations.
Assist with contractor and subcontractor HSE inspections.
Support internal, client, consultant, and third-party HSE audits.
Ensure HSE documents and records are properly maintained and readily available for review.
Promote a positive safety culture and Zero Harm approach across the project.
Immediately escalate serious or imminent HSE risks to the Senior HSE Coordinator or HSE Manager.
Support continuous improvement and implementation of HSE lessons learned.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
0-3 years of relevant HSE experience, fresh graduates with HSE background can also be considered
Basic practical knowledge of construction site safety requirements.
Good understanding of risk assessments, method statements, PPE
OSHA 10 or equivalent is an advantage.
First Aid / CPR certification is preferred.
Strong written and spoken English language skills
Computer literacy
