Description
A leading organisation is seeking a driven and commercially astute Field Manager to lead field teams, strengthen customer relationships and ensure consistent execution across stores. The successful candidate will combine strong sales management capabilities with operational discipline, people leadership and the ability to identify opportunities that improve performance for both clients and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing Merchandisers, Field Marketers, Area Marketers, Beauty Consultants and Brand Activation Consultants.
- Driving promotional activity, ensuring promotions are communicated, implemented and maintained effectively across stores.
- Managing planogram implementation, shelf health, forward share, category flows and point-of-purchase objectives.
- Communicating and driving sales targets while identifying opportunities to increase volumes, improve stock availability and maximise in-store sales.
- Monitoring pricing, stock levels, out-of-stocks, competitor activity and new product innovations.
- Analysing field and sales data to provide actionable commercial insights and recommendations.
- Managing operational resources and controlling expenses including fuel, travel, overtime, vehicle and training costs.
- Building strong relationships with clients, customers, depots and operational teams.
- Preparing trade visit reports, performance reports and regular stakeholder feedback.
- Driving speed to market and supporting the successful introduction and listing of new innovations.
- Managing recruitment, induction, training, development, performance management, succession planning and employee engagement across the field team.
- Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, Employment Equity requirements, health and safety standards and company policies.
Requirements:
- A relevant Diploma or Degree at NQF Level 6 or 7.
- A valid Code 8 driver's licence.
- 3–5 years' sales experience within an FMCG environment, including managerial or supervisory experience.
- Strong sales management, negotiation and commercial awareness.
- Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proven planning, organising and resource-management capabilities.
- Good computer literacy and digital fluency.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive and results-driven approach.
- The ability to demonstrate resilience, emotional maturity, critical thinking and a competitive mindset.
