Position Overview
Guardian Roofing, Gutters & Insulation is looking for a creative, hands-on Marketing Intern who wants real-world experience creating content for an established home services brand. This internship will primarily focus on photography, videography and video editing. You'll spend time both in our Auburn office and in the field capturing our teams, projects, company culture and behind-the-scenes moments that help showcase the Guardian story.
This is a paid, temporary internship and is not intended to lead to a permanent position. Our goal is to provide a meaningful professional experience where a student can strengthen their creative skills, contribute to real marketing projects and build their portfolio while continuing their education. We are happy to work around school schedules. The internship can be structured as either a part-time or full-time opportunity depending on the student's availability.
What You'll Do
- Capture high-quality photo and video content at Guardian jobsites, company events, training sessions and other locations throughout the Puget Sound area.
- Create and edit short-form and long-form video content for social media, digital advertising, recruiting, internal communications and other marketing channels.
- Assist with planning shoots, shot lists, storyboards and content concepts.
- Organize, label and maintain Guardian's photo and video asset library.
- Work with the marketing team to ensure content follows Guardian's brand standards.
- Create basic graphic design and visual content as needed.
- Identify opportunities to capture authentic employee, customer and project stories.
- Follow Guardian safety requirements and customer privacy expectations while capturing content in the field.
- Participate in regular feedback and coaching designed to develop your production, editing and marketing skills.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a college degree in Marketing, Film or Video Production, Multimedia Design, Visual Communications, or related field.
- A portfolio demonstrating previous photography, videography, video editing, digital content or related creative work. Student, class and personal projects are welcome.
- Must have working knowledge of video-editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar software.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar creative software highly desired.
- Comfortable working behind a camera and capturing content in both planned and spontaneous environments.
- Strong visual storytelling instincts.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to receive feedback and make revisions to creative work.
- Dependable, organized and able to manage multiple projects.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
- Willing and able to travel locally to Guardian jobsites and company events during scheduled work hours.
- Experience creating Instagram Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts or other short-form video content.
- Experience operating DJI equipment, including drones, Osmo cameras and the DJI Mimo app strongly preferred.
- Must be able to successfully pass Guardian’s preemployment screening including criminal background check, and drug screening.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
Academic Credit
Guardian is happy to work with the intern's college or university to support academic credit when approved by the student's institution. Students are responsible for confirming their eligibility and registering for internship or cooperative education credit through their school. Guardian will reasonably assist with required employer documentation, verification of internship hours, learning objectives and supervisor evaluations as needed by the student's academic program.
Portfolio Opportunity
We understand that building a strong portfolio is an important part of a creative internship.
Interns may be permitted to include Guardian-approved work samples they helped create in an academic or professional student portfolio for the purpose of demonstrating their skills.
Portfolio use must be approved by Guardian and is subject to customer privacy, employee privacy, confidentiality and applicable media-release requirements.
Location, Shift & Duration
- Must be able to report Monday’s to Guardian's Facility located in Auburn, Wa
- Monday – Friday 24-40/week with flexible schedule depending on availability
- Additional Puget Sound locations vary depending on job sites.
- The intended duration of this internship is 12 weeks.
Compensation & Benefits
- $23-26/hour
- Sick leave provided in accordance with state law.
- Flexible scheduling around school commitments when possible.
- Opportunity to receive academic credit when approved by the student's college or university.
- Eligibility for any additional Guardian benefit programs will depend on scheduled hours and the applicable benefit plan terms.
