Director - OTC and Listed Commodities Trade Support
Team Overview
Commodities Operations is a dynamic team that enables the trading business to transact in global markets with a diverse set of clients in the commodities sector. The Trade Support Group acts as a central conduit across the front-to-back trade lifecycle, ensuring trade capture, lifecycle processing, reconciliations, exception management and control activities are completed accurately and on time. The OTC and Listed Commodities Trade Support team supports unwind and novation, listed futures and options activity, working closely with Trading, Sales, Technology, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Settlements and other Operations partners. The Mumbai team forms part of the target-state operating model and is expected to provide resilient, scalable and controlled support for processes transitioned from London.
Role Summary
The OTC and Listed Commodities Trade Support team is looking for a Director to lead the Mumbai Listed Commodities Trade Support function. The role is a leadership position within Commodities Operations and is accountable for operational delivery, control effectiveness, issue resolution, stakeholder management and the continued maturity of the Mumbai target-state operating model.
The successful candidate will provide leadership across trade support, lifecycle management, exchange and system reconciliations, expiry and delivery controls, operational risk, regulatory awareness and strategic transformation. The Director will act as a regional point of accountability for responsibilities transitioned from London, ensuring processes are executed consistently, risks are identified and escalated, and the team maintains a strong culture of control and continuous improvement.
The role requires stakeholder engagement with Trading, Sales, Technology, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Settlements and global Operations partners. The individual will drive strategic change, automation, process standardisation and resiliency initiatives and ensuring the function is positioned to support future business growth.
Primary Responsibilities

Process OTC Trade Lifecycle events such as unwind and novation and monitor and action Trade Exceptions.
Ensure high focus for regulatory reporting relating to deal structuring and settlement. The candidate will need to manage multiple reporting cut offs as well as communicate submissions.
Lead the Mumbai OTC and Listed Commodities Trade Support team, setting priorities, service standards and control expectations for the function.
Own operational delivery and control effectiveness across trade support, reconciliations, lifecycle management, expiry and delivery controls, reporting and exception management.
Provide oversight of exchange-versus-risk, risk-versus-ledger, Tigris / ICX, TradeMart / SIMBA / LDPACT, QWEST, DMT / P2 and related Listed Commodities control processes.
Ensure material breaks, aged items, control failures and operational incidents are identified, escalated, remediated and documented in line with Firm standards.
Provide management information, KPI / KRI reporting, quality assurance reviews, supervisory evidence and service review forums.
Act as an escalation point for operational, market, system or stakeholder issues impacting Listed Commodities activity.
Partner with Trading management, Sales, Technology, Finance, Product Control, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Settlements and global Operations leadership to resolve issues and influence priorities.
Drive the sustainable delivery of the Mumbai operating model, cross-training, coverage design, resiliency and knowledge retention.
Challenge process design, control gaps, manual workarounds and recurring exceptions, ensuring root causes are addressed through sustainable remediation.
Support audit, regulatory, operational risk and senior management reviews through clear evidence, transparent communication and timely issue management.
Ensure the team maintains current procedures, Skills Required
9+ years of experience within Operations, Trade Support, Middle Office or a comparable financial markets environment.
Proven leadership experience managing teams, global stakeholders, operational risk and front-to-back processes.
Strong understanding of listed derivatives, exchange-cleared products, trade lifecycle events, reconciliations and operational controls.
Experience overseeing control frameworks, supervisory routines, issue management, governance forums and senior escalations.
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities and drive change across business, Technology and Infrastructure partners.
Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize complex issues clearly and concisely for senior management.
Track record of delivering operating model improvements, process standardisation, automation or strategic platform adoption.
Ability to lead through ambiguity, make sound decisions under pressure and maintain a strong conduct and control culture.
Strong Excel, PowerPoint and management reporting skills; experience with workflow, dashboard, data analytics or automation tools would be advantageous.
