About the opportunity 

Werribee Mercy Hospital is a Public Hospital located in the rapidly growing western suburbs of Melbourne. We currently have a career opportunity for a qualified and experienced Patient Services Assistant to join the Food & Environmental Department management team.  

• Based at Werribee Mercy Hospital  

• Full-time position, 38 hours a week with the ability to cover dayshift and afternoon shifts.   

• Job satisfaction in a busy and fast-paced work environment.

To thrive in this role, you will have: 

• Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.  

• A Certificate 3 Health Services, or equivalent, or working towards.  

• The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.  

• Proven ability to supervise and train staff to achieve appropriate standards.  

• Excellent customer service skill and attention to detail.  

• Commitment to staff development.  

• A commitment to policies & procedures in order to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff and members of the public.  

• Demonstrated ability to show initiative and work within a team environment.  

• Experience within a Hospital, Hotel or cleaning sector (desirable).  

• Proven ability to supervise and train staff.  

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: 

• A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check. 

• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
