Your Role

  • Contribute to the development of next-generation lens designs for ZEISS ophthalmic lenses

  • Develop and assess optical concepts for spectacle lenses with a focus on visual performance, product relevance, and customer benefit

  • Collaborate with research teams to translate scientific findings into design concepts and appropriate laboratory validation approaches

  • Support wearer trials and contribute to the interpretation and communication of study results

  • Support claim generation and substantiation in alignment with product management requirements and product positioning

  • Accompany product development activities through key phases up to market introduction especially for the XRX business segment

  • Represent the ZEISS Vision Care Lens Design team in selected external expert settings, including trade fairs and scientific conferences

Your Profile

  • University degree in physics, optics, optometry, ophthalmic optics, vision science, engineering, or a comparable scientific discipline. PhD is appreciated

  • Initial experience or strong interest in optical design, visual optics, spectacle lens design, ophthalmic products, or applied vision science

  • Ability to analyze complex scientific and technical topics and translate them into practical, product-oriented solutions

  • Strong motivation to work in an interdisciplinary environment across research, product management, development, and testing functions

  • Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style

  • Confident communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage

  • Interest in communicating technical topics in internal and external expert forums
