Description
The primary role of the Pool Attendant at The Charleston Place, is to ensure all guests are greeted and served in a friendly and courteous manner using appropriate procedures, in accordance with restaurant standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
Greet all guests with a genuine, warm welcome and use their names whenever possible.
Escort guests to their designated tables or poolside lounge chairs promptly.
Anticipate guest needs, respond quickly, and acknowledge every guest regardless of how busy the deck is.
Provide consistent, efficient, and courteous service that strictly adheres to Forbes Standards.
Poolside Operations & Setup
Set up, arrange, and maintain poolside lounge chairs throughout the day.
Distribute hourly amenities and refreshments to guests lounging by the pool.
Manage towel inventory by picking up fresh towels and returning soiled ones for laundering.
Stock necessary side stands with essential supplies to ensure smooth operations.
Food & Beverage Support
Assist food and beverage servers during busy meal periods to ensure timely service.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, daily specials, and beverages.
Clear, bus, and reset tables quickly to keep the dining and lounge areas pristine.
Polish silverware and glassware to maintain luxury presentation standards.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to communicate effectively in English with hotel guests, suppliers, and colleagues.
Provide friendly, efficient and courteous service to guests.
Proficient in memorizing and articulately explaining extensive food, beverage, ingredient, and daily special options to guests.
Ability remain calm under pressure, be organized, self-motivated and work well with others.
Possess a strong positive attitude and ability to initiate light conversation with guests.
Basic knowledge of Charleston and surrounding areas.
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Additional foreign language skills a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a colleague to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
Must be able to lift equipment, supplies, etc. of at least 30 pounds.
Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
The role may require extended periods on your feet, especially during peak hotel hours or events.
Clear vision is important for reading reports, analyzing data, and overseeing Pool activities.
Good hearing is necessary for effective communication with colleagues, guests, and stakeholders.
