Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Power BI Administrator to manage and support their enterprise Power BI platform in a remote capacity. This role focuses on workspace administration, security governance, capacity management, and production troubleshooting across the Microsoft Power BI environment.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Administer and manage Power BI workspaces, users, groups, permissions, and access controls in an enterprise environment
- Configure and maintain Power BI tenant settings, administrative policies, and governance standards
- Monitor Power BI usage, capacity performance, health, and resolve platform issues through troubleshooting
- Manage security roles, role-based access controls, and implement data governance best practices
- Support Power BI deployments including dataset refresh schedules, On-premises Data Gateway configurations, and connectivity
- Administer Power BI Premium/Fabric capacity and monitor dataset refresh failures and platform performance metrics
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, data, and business teams to resolve technical issues and platform changes
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of Power BI administration, security policies, governance procedures, and operational standards
Requirements
- 6–8 years of experience with Power BI administration and the Power BI Admin Portal
- Hands-on expertise in workspace administration, user/group access management, and permissions configuration
- Strong knowledge of Power BI security, governance, and tenant settings management
- Proven experience with Power BI Gateway administration and dataset/data refresh management
- Demonstrated ability in Power BI monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity administration (Premium/Fabric)
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Experience establishing governance frameworks, standards, and best practices for enterprise Power BI deployments
- Strong documentation skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to cross-functional teams
