Director, Quality Management Systems (QMS)

This role is part of Alcon's Quality & Regulatory Affairs function, a team that ensures our products are in compliance with global, local, and internal regulations and meet the strictest standards of quality as we help people see brilliantly.
The Director, Quality Management Systems (QMS) (Management Path), is primarily responsible for driving the development, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Management Systems procedures and activities, ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting continuous improvement. This role has significant influence on the QMS team, collaborating with other departments to achieve objectives.
Specifics may include:
Contribute to leadership of the harmonization and standardization of Alcon's Quality Management System (QMS), executing departmental strategies that drive compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Partner with sites and stakeholders across all organizational levels to ensure alignment of QMS initiatives with company objectives and business priorities.
Monitor industry trends, Health Authority expectations, and Notified Body requirements, translating emerging standards into business processes, quality strategies, and organizational capabilities.
Activate Quality Information Systems and Training programs, ensuring a robust, scalable, and sustainable quality management framework that supports operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Operationalize departmental priorities, allocate resources, and make key decisions regarding budgets, projects, and strategic initiatives to achieve quality and business objectives.
Build organizational capability through leadership, strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, effective communication, and development of high-performing teams.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen quality processes, enhance operational effectiveness, and support a culture of compliance and accountability.
All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization. Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.
