Position Overview 

We are seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to take ownership of the reliability, security, maintenance, and continuous improvement of RazorSync's cloud infrastructure. This role is well suited for someone who is comfortable operating production systems, troubleshooting across application and infrastructure layers, and balancing operational urgency with long-term platform stability. 

You will manage a primarily AWS and Windows-based environment, including Amazon RDS, Windows EC2 instances, SQL Server, Windows Server and domain controller services, messaging components, DNS, load balancing, AMIs, and server patching. You will work closely with engineering, QA, security, and business partners to support dependable releases, improve automation, and strengthen operational readiness.

• Production infrastructure is stable, secure, observable, and recoverable. 

• Routine operational work, including patching, image management, and deployments, is repeatable and well documented. 

• Incidents are diagnosed methodically, communicated clearly, and followed by durable corrective actions. 

• Cloud resources are managed with appropriate attention to availability, performance, security, and cost. 

• Engineering teams have dependable infrastructure and delivery processes that support safe, efficient releases. 

Primary Functions 

• Own the day-to-day operation, support, and continuous improvement of AWS infrastructure across production and non-production environments. 

• Administer and troubleshoot Amazon RDS environments supporting Microsoft SQL Server workloads, including availability, connectivity, backups, maintenance, and performance coordination. 

• Provision, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Amazon EC2 Windows instances and Windows Server operating systems. 

• Manage Windows domain controller services, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS dependencies, access, and general domain health. 

• Maintain Windows SQL Server environments in partnership with engineering and database stakeholders. 

• Manage AWS AMIs and image lifecycle processes to support consistent, secure server provisioning and recovery. 

• Plan, test, execute, and document server patching for Windows servers and related platform components. 

• Configure and support Amazon SQS and Amazon SNS integrations used for application messaging and notifications. 

• Administer Route 53 DNS records, hosted zones, and routing configurations. 

• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Application Load Balancers, target groups, health checks, certificates, and traffic routing. 

• Support secure networking and connectivity across AWS services, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, routing, and private service access. 

• Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability; identify trends and address risks before they become incidents. 

• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, remediation planning, and follow-up validation. 

• Develop and maintain operational runbooks, architecture documentation, recovery procedures, and support guides. 

• Partner with software engineers and QA to improve deployment reliability, environment consistency, and release readiness. 

• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasks and reduce configuration drift. 

• Support backup, restore, disaster recovery, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure security initiatives. 

• Assist with cloud cost visibility and responsible resource utilization. 

Required Qualifications 

• 5+ years of hands-on DevOps, cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or site reliability engineering experience. 

• 4+ years of hands-on experience administering and supporting production AWS environments. 

• Deep practical experience with Amazon RDS, EC2, SQS, SNS, Route 53, Application Load Balancers, VPC networking, security groups, and AMI lifecycle management in production environments. 

• 5+ years of Windows Server administration experience, including patching, troubleshooting, services, permissions, performance tuning, event logs, and system recovery. 

• Strong experience administering Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, domain controllers, DNS, and identity management in enterprise environments. 

• 3+ years of experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure, including backups, maintenance, performance troubleshooting, and high-availability considerations. 

• Experience supporting high-availability SaaS platforms with responsibility for uptime, scalability, security, and operational excellence. 

• Advanced troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, operating systems, databases, networking, application layers, and cloud services. 

• Proven experience with monitoring, alerting, incident response, change management, root cause analysis, and implementation of long-term corrective actions. 

• Experience designing and implementing automation solutions using scripting, infrastructure-as-code, or configuration management tools. 

• Experience leading production incidents, coordinating cross-functional response efforts, and driving post-incident improvements. 

• Experience evaluating, implementing, and maintaining cloud security, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies. 

• Ability to create clear technical documentation, operational runbooks, architectural diagrams, and implementation plans. 

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, security, and business teams. 

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing initiatives, make sound technical decisions, and take ownership through resolution. 

• Experience mentoring engineers, establishing operational standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives is highly preferred. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience managing environments subject to PCI DSS compliance requirements 

• Experience with AWS Well-Architected Framework reviews 

• Experience with infrastructure monitoring platforms and observability practices 

• Experience supporting acquisition-related migrations, tenant consolidations, or enterprise integrations 

• Azure DevOps Pipeline administration and release management experience 

• AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification preferred

Work Environment 

This is a remote role that requires effective collaboration across distributed teams. The position may occasionally require scheduled maintenance or incident support outside normal business hours, based on production needs.
