Overview

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is hiring for a Co-Op Administrative for Project/Construction Management supporting laboratory projects in Richland, WA.  

 

 

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD). 

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

Responsible for applying classroom-based education to gain hands-on practical experience within field of study. Performs a variety of administrative support activities in areas such as Project Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Communications, or other. Provides business core support and assists in the completion of special projects. Contributes to the development of new ideas and concepts. Maintains training and ensures work is completed in compliance with all applicable procedures. 

 

  • Skilled, fully proficient level. Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. Assignments may be wide in scope requiring a broad background of experience or independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. 
  • Completes tasks in creative and effective ways. Makes recommendations for new procedures. Contributes to the development of new concepts and techniques. 
  • Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. 
  • Researches, analyzes problems, compiles data, and prepares reports. Interfaces with and coordinates activities between various departments and outside parties. 
  • Communicates verbally and in writing with all employees. Refers matters to appropriate staff and/or management for further resolution and follows up as appropriate. 
  • Maintains confidentiality, uses tact and diplomacy and practical knowledge in conducting daily work activities. 
  • Provides suggestions for, and assists in implementing, process improvements. 
  • Understands and applies departmental and company policies, procedures, and practices. 
  • Contacts are frequent with individuals representing outside organizations, and/or individuals of significant importance within the broader organization. 
  • Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data of moderate importance to the function of the department which may be of a sensitive nature. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Requirements

  • A U.S. citizen.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • An active full-time student during the two semesters/quarters immediately preceding the assignment.
  • Maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) during their college enrollment.
  • Students at Washington State University, Tri-Cities (WSU-TC), Columbia Basin College (CBC), or any online students living local who are enrolled in a degree program that relates to Navarro-ATL’s and Hanford’s cleanup mission.
  • Senior or Post-Grad status and enrolled full-time, as determined by the institution.
  • Willing and able to work 15 - 40 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 6:30 am-5:00 pm.

Compensation

Grade Business Co-Op Sr: $28.00/hr

 

The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.
