Role summary:The (USA) Director, Merchandising-Kids Fashion leads the development and execution of comprehensive category strategies to drive business growth and profitability. This role oversees pricing, assortment, vendor relationships, and profit and loss management while leveraging data insights to inform decisions. The Director manages cross-functional teams, supports supplier negotiations, and ensures alignment with company objectives across channels. By fostering operational excellence and innovation, this position delivers customer-focused merchandising solutions that enhance the shopping experience and contribute to Walmart’s long-term success.
About the team:
This team leads strategy, financial management, and product assortment decisions for both Private Brand and National Brand categories. It manages a high-volume desk requiring strong leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers. The role offers the opportunity to guide Walmart’s fashion strategy for Kids Fashion-Girls Sportswear. The team is responsible for category management, vendor relationships, pricing strategies, and profit and loss oversight. It drives business planning and negotiation efforts to deliver effective assortment and product strategies aligned with company goals.
What you'll do:
- Lead category strategy development and execution for a highly complex merchandising category, aligning with long-term business objectives.
- Manage profit and loss responsibilities, analyzing financial data to meet targets and optimize pricing and inventory decisions.
- Oversee vendor relationships and conduct negotiations to drive price leadership and supplier performance.
- Direct assortment, modular layout, and pricing strategies to enhance customer experience across channels.
- Guide and develop a high-performing team, managing priorities, performance, and career growth.
- Utilize data analytics to inform decisions, support digital initiatives, and improve merchandising processes.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
