Description

Citi is seeking a senior Product Issue Management Lead to head the business-side coordination of Issue Management and Risk Mitigation across the Partnership Cards & Development organization. In this role, you will directly lead a team of professional Issue Coordinators, driving accountability through the design and execution of robust remediation plans that address gaps identified through self-identification, regulatory exams, and internal audits. This is a strategic leadership opportunity to build and embed a comprehensive Partner Oversight Issue Intake & Management Framework that shapes how partner-related product issues are governed at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of 6 to 10 Business Issue Coordinators, overseeing performance evaluations, hiring, talent development, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of business-led issue remediation in line with Citi's Issue Management policies, ensuring risk mitigation strategies are embedded into every Corrective Action Plan.
  • Design, build, and deploy a structured Partner Oversight Issue Intake & Management Framework to standardize how partner-related product issues are identified, triaged, assessed, and resolved.
  • Establish and track remediation milestones, holding teams accountable to committed closure dates and proactively managing execution risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks.
  • Direct the execution of control and sustainability testing to validate that remediations are durable, effective, and prevent recurrence of identified gaps.
  • Serve as the primary business liaison with Independent Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Legal teams throughout issue scoping, Corrective Action Plan drafting, and validation.
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to align on remediation strategies and lead joint risk-mitigation efforts across shared accountability areas.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Product Management, Partner Management, Operations, and Technology teams to execute complex, multi-functional remediation plans.
  • Deliver high-quality management reporting and executive presentations on portfolio health, escalating critical risks and emerging issues to senior leadership with transparency and clarity.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 10 or more years of relevant experience in issue management, risk remediation, product management, or a related discipline within financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing professional-level teams, with direct people leadership responsibilities including hiring, performance management, and talent development.
  • Ability to build operational frameworks from the ground up, including intake, governance, or oversight structures in complex, regulated environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to drive accountability and alignment across cross-functional, matrixed organizations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex risk topics into clear, concise reporting for senior executives.
  • Sound judgment in assessing business risk, with a clear understanding of the reputational and regulatory implications of remediation decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent university-level education or experience.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as business, finance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of banking products, credit cards, or retail financial services, with experience in Partnership or Co-brand card programs particularly valued.
  • Experience managing teams of 6 or more direct reports in a professional or regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with control testing, sustainability testing, or audit remediation processes within a financial services setting.
