What is the opportunity?

The National Operations Support Officer is tasked with offering extensive support to our Litigation team and external counsel, focusing on legal assignment and managing complex transactions, using extensive knowledge of related RBC products and services. The incumbent will assume ownership and personal accountability for resolution of any issues related to the Collection and Litigation function and ensures that all accounts are worked with a mindset of risk mitigation.

What will you do?

Key Accountabilities:

  • Complete and process all accounts referred to litigation queues for legal action, adhering to the Litigation process and guidelines
  • Complete all requests and maintenance as required for legal assignment.
  • Submit claim for loss recovery to a government-sponsored loan programs (Canada Small Business Financing Loan / Highly Affected Sectors Credit Availability Program / EDC Business Credit Availability Program (BCAP)/ CALA to Industry Canada/ BDC/EDC as per strict accordance established processes and guidelines
  • Performs maintenance on all accounts in client’s portfolio, to ensure all risk exposure is mitigated, based on the Collection Risk Base process with no further consideration of granting credit
  • Complete the Legal Assignment template for all products assigned for legal action
  • Assign all accounts for litigation to external counsel, including mortgage enforcement, on RBC’s legal assignment system T-360, Collection Highway.
  • Takes ownership and accountability for the resolution of complex issues and concerns at the first point of contact; demonstrating a long-term perspective in addressing external counsel concerns
  • Provide specific documentations for external counsel to commence legal action which includes, history and/or statements and a copy of the signed agreement if available.
  • Ensures adherence to Global Information Risk Management framework and Global Compliance mandated policies and procedures, exercises due diligence in following operational to ensure compliance/adherence with policies/procedures/guidelines
  • Proactively identifies and recommends solutions to recurring errors, service gaps and process efficiency and effectiveness enhancements; acts as a referral point/Subject Matter Expert for sales and service employees

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • 3 plus years of Collections experience
  • Good knowledge of secured and unsecured debts
  • Good knowledge of government-sponsored loan program
  • Thorough understanding of RBC Credit and Credit Management and Recoveries Systems: CACS (Computer Assisted Collections System, TSYS/TS2 (Total Systems), Elements, Collection Highway, CASPER application
  • RBC’s legal assignment system - T360 / L2 Café / CMORT
  • Good working knowledge of OLBB, OLMS, SRF, DDA, CASPER, IRIS, Teranet Recovery System Highways
  • Familiar with key referral sources and has a strong knowledge of collections process which facilitates solutions and problem resolutions
  • Must be able to work the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday
