Position Overview
Are you an electrical construction professional who takes pride in quality workmanship and getting the job done right? We’re looking for a QA/QC Technician II – Electrical to join our Field Services team and help ensure quality across a variety of challenging projects.
In this role, you’ll spend a significant amount of time in the field, working alongside Project Managers, Supervisors, and field crews to monitor quality, provide guidance, and make sure electrical work meets project specifications, Company standards, and applicable codes. Our electrical work includes a significant volume of utility-scale solar construction, along with industrial and commercial electrical projects.
We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of QA/QC practices, electrical construction, and the National Electrical Code (NEC) who can identify potential issues, work with field teams to solve problems, and help us continue building a strong culture of quality.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being in the field, working with construction teams, and having a direct impact on the success of a project. The position requires flexibility, extended travel and out-of-town work, and a willingness to work extended hours when project needs require it.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with management teams to administer and monitor Project Specific Quality Plans (that includes project “hold” points, schedule of inspections, etc.) for assigned jobs
- Verify that project hold points and witness points for electrical scopes of work are met before work is covered, backfilled, or energized
- Perform routine field inspections of electrical installations against approved drawings, specifications, and manufacturer installation requirements
- Document inspections with field reports and photographs and submit them into the Company's quality system for office review
- Identify nonconforming work, initiate the required documentation, and track corrective action through closure
- Capture and report Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) events, including rework, materials, and schedule impact
Working Conditions
- Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write and type
- Work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather
- Perform duties on-site at industrial and commercial locations
- Stand/Walk for long periods of time to include uneven terrain
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of experience serving in a construction QA/QC capacity, with a minimum of 2 years supporting electrical scopes of work
- Possess or pursuing a Degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Business Management, or related disciplines preferred
- Working knowledge of various industrial construction trades required; demonstrated hands-on electrical construction background required
- Valid driver’s license required and ability to maintain status as an approved company driver
- Ability to understand projects from a QA/QC perspective and identify items of importance
