Job Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting the Risk Governance team in effective risk oversight, ensuring adherence to regulatory expectations, and enabling clear, consistent risk deliverables that may be used in reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors. The role partners with various risk disciplines (Operational, Compliance, Credit, etc.) as well as Legal, Internal Audit, and business lines to promote strong risk culture, effective challenge, and disciplined governance practices across the organization.
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Support the establishment and execution of risk governance activities across the enterprise consistent with regulatory guidance and industry best practices that adds value to the business/function in managing risk. Review and analyze internal and external data, reports, and other information to support the team in providing effective oversight and credible challenge of both first and second line functions to ensure risk practices are effectively implemented in adherence with stated expectations.

Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the design, execution, and continuous improvement of risk governance frameworks as applicable, including committee structures, charters, and governance standards for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Understand regulatory expectations and internal policies and identify areas existing practices may not align, especially as activities and regulations evolve and shift over time.
- Review risk governance industry trends and best practices; benchmark Bank practices to ensure alignment and propose enhancements for improvement.
- Understand the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (“ERMF”) and Risk Aggregation and Assessment Methodology (“RAAM”) and its applicability across the enterprise, inclusive of how RAAM functions within the GRC and Business Intelligence Tool.
- Understand risk programs (i.e. RCSA, BCRA, KRI, etc) including high-level methodology, governance, and their impact on the RAAM process.
- Be a resource for constituents on key aspects of the ERMF and RAAM and how risk programs fit into the RAAM.
- Assist with the development of relevant risk management committee reporting for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Ensure timely and quality risk committee materials; including alignment and escalation utilizing the risk committee structure as designed.
- Maintain the risk committee structure and facilitate and coordinate updates to committee charters and the Framework (as needed) and committee attendance records.
- Support the execution of quarterly risk assessments and/or quality reviews and assist in actions to remediate issues, engage with LOB and 2nd line of defense (2LOD) to provide oversight and credible challenge on adherence to ERMF and RAAM programs, including appropriate risk assessment outcomes and escalation of material risks. Contribute to and participate in program councils (e.g. ERM Governance Council).
- Continuously identify opportunities for improvement, including automation and other enhancements to increase efficiency and quality of work products and deliverables.
- Partner with various departments including Office of the Corporate Secretary, Business Controls, 2LOD, Internal Audit, and others as necessary.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience, banking experience preferred.
- A clear understanding of the Bank's approach to the management of operational risk, or equivalent experience gained in other organizations.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills and the Ability to Communicate with discretion and understanding when confidentiality is needed.
- Must demonstrate intellectual curiosity, be analytical and possess the ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations across a complex business(es).
- Must have a general understanding of banking regulations.
- Must be results and goal oriented, Possess sound judgment and Ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when approaching work or making recommendations for solutions.
- Ability to work in a dynamic work environment that requires multiple demands, shifting priorities, and rapid change.
- Must be able to maintain independence and objectivity in all aspects of position.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Demonstrated Ability to learn applications and internal banking systems.
