Key Responsibilities

Subcontractor Quality Governance & Strategy

  • Develop and execute subcontractor quality strategies aligned with Micron quality objectives and business needs.
  • Establish quality governance framework, KPIs, and performance scorecards for outsourced manufacturing partners.
  • Drive subcontractor accountability through regular quality reviews, audits, and executive business reviews.
  • Lead strategic quality initiatives to improve yield, reliability, customer quality, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as the quality subject matter expert for subcontractor manufacturing processes and systems.

Quality Performance Management

  • Monitor and improve subcon quality metrics including:
  • PPM
  • Yield performance
  • Escapes
  • Customer returns
  • Reliability indicators
  • Audit findings
  • Corrective action effectiveness
  • Identify emerging quality risks through trend analysis and proactive monitoring.
  • Drive containment, corrective and preventive actions to closure.
  • Ensure sustainable solutions are implemented and institutionalized.

Problem Solving & Quality Improvement

  • Lead complex cross-functional quality investigations utilizing:
  • 8D
  • DMAIC
  • FMEA
  • SPC
  • DOE
  • Fault Tree Analysis
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Drive reduction of chronic quality issues through systematic continuous improvement projects.
  • Facilitate technical reviews and escalation management with subcontractor management teams.

Supplier & Manufacturing Quality Systems

  • Assess effectiveness of subcontractor quality management systems.
  • Lead quality audits and compliance assessments.
  • Drive implementation of best practices and standardization across subcontractor sites.
  • Ensure adherence to:
  • ISO9001
  • IATF16949 (where applicable)
  • Micron Quality Standards
  • Customer requirements
  • Support qualification and certification activities for new processes, products, and manufacturing lines.

Risk Management & Quality Assurance

  • Develop risk assessment methodologies for subcontractor operations.
  • Establish early warning systems to identify process excursions and quality degradation.
  • Drive excursion management and risk containment activities.
  • Lead quality readiness reviews for:
  • New products
  • Technology transfers
  • Capacity expansion
  • Process changes

Data Analytics & AI-Driven Quality Management

  • Utilize AI and advanced analytics to identify trends, predict quality risks, and accelerate root cause identification.
  • Develop automated quality dashboards and data visualization tools.
  • Drive objective, data-based decision making across quality and manufacturing organizations.
  • Champion digital transformation initiatives that improve quality monitoring, reporting efficiency, and operational effectiveness.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

  • Partner closely with:
  • Assembly & Test Manufacturing
  • Product Engineering
  • Process Integration
  • Reliability Engineering
  • Supplier Management
  • Customer Quality
  • Influence quality decisions across organizations without direct authority.
  • Lead communication with executive leadership regarding major quality issues and business risks.
  • Mentor and develop quality engineers across the organization.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in:
  • Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Materials Science
  • Physics
  • Related technical discipline

Experience

  • 10+ years of semiconductor manufacturing or quality engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of supplier/subcontractor quality management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor Assembly and Test manufacturing processes.
  • Proven track record leading complex quality improvement initiatives.
