About this role
Provide day-to-day inspection of welding and fabrication work carried out by Osbit's supplier and fabricator base, ensuring work is carried out in accordance with approved procedures, drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Identify and help resolve supplier non-conformances, working alongside the Fabrication & Quality Coordinator and Welding & Quality Engineers to provide consistent quality oversight across Osbit's supply chain.
Your responsibilities
- Inspect supplier welds and fabricated components to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
- Review welding procedures, drawings, and documentation, and monitor welding activities for compliance.
- Verify materials, weld traceability, NDT records, and quality documentation.
- Conduct supplier weld audits, identify non-conformances, and support corrective actions.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal quality teams to drive quality improvements and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.

Your experience
Essential
- Welding, fabrication, or quality inspection experience.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and welding specifications.
- Knowledge of welding processes, defects, and quality standards.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.
Desirable
- CSWIP 3.0 working towards 3.1 Welding Inspector certification.
- Engineering qualification (NVQ, HNC/HND, or apprenticeship).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, NDT, and supplier auditing.

- Successful applicants will be based at our Riding Mill headquarters in Northeast England, working on site as required.
- Working abroad may be required at times.
- A valid driving licence is required.
