Lakeside Educational Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at the Upper Merion Vantage Academy Campus in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of middle and high school students who require learning and emotional support. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, working collaboratively with staff, students, and families to promote academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs
- Teach or co-teach classes, adapting instructional strategies to meet student needs
- Manage resource room support and provide targeted interventions
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
- Maintain accurate records related to IEPs, assessments, and student performance
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities
Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with middle and high school students in a special education setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development and case management
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles
- Passion for supporting students with emotional and learning challenges

Requirements
Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification Required- Secondary Level Preferred.
Experience/desire to work in a trauma-informed environment with students who have faced challenges in their educational journey.
