Description
Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Senior Automation Technician to support our client, Certified Collectibles Group (CCG), at their facility in Lakewood Ranch / Sarasota, FL.
Position Overview
In this high-impact, hands-on leadership role, you will lead and support maintenance and automation operations across multiple facilities, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and continuous optimization of automated and mechanical production equipment. As a Senior Automation Technician, your focus is entirely on the "stuff"—combining deep technical expertise in PLCs, robotics, pneumatic/mechanical systems, and electrical controls with team leadership, international project support, and equipment commissioning. You will mentor local maintenance technicians while serving as a key technical resource for global sites.
Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Root Cause Troubleshooting: Diagnose, repair, and optimize PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), HMIs, Fanuc robotics, servo systems, industrial networks, ultrasonic welders, pneumatic drives, and material handling conveyors.

Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead daily maintenance team activities, develop technical SOPs, and train technicians on safe work practices, electrical controls, and preventive/predictive maintenance procedures.

Automation Projects & Commissioning: Collaborate with engineering teams, vendors, and integrators during the planning, installation, debugging, acceptance testing, and startup of new automated production lines.

Global Operations & Travel Support: Travel internationally to support overseas facilities and partner sites, driving standardized maintenance practices, equipment installations, and line optimizations.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, manufacturing equipment maintenance, controls, or automated production support.

Technical Core: Proven troubleshooting expertise across PLC systems, HMIs, robotics, servo drives, pneumatic/mechanical drive systems, and electrical schematics.

Leadership Ability: Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or supervising shop-floor maintenance technicians.

Global Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed for equipment commissioning and technical support.
Highly Desirable "Nice to Haves"

Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred).

Experience in Plastics Manufacturing or high-speed automated production.

Professional Fanuc Robotics Training and direct experience with Ultrasonic Welders.

Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or Automation Technology.
