Role: Practice Accountant
Location: Scarborough
Salary: Up to £45,000 (DOE)
Are you an experienced practice accountant looking for a role where you can take ownership of your own clients, build strong relationships and have a genuine impact within a growing accountancy practice?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and growing independent accountancy practice in Scarborough. The business is continuing to grow through strong client recommendations and is looking for an experienced accountant to join the team and support its expanding client base.
The role would suit someone who is confident working independently, enjoys dealing directly with clients and is looking for a long-term opportunity that has real opportunities to progress their career.

Responsibilities of the Practice Accountant job include:
• Managing your own portfolio of clients
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients
• Preparing year-end accounts for a range of businesses and individuals
• Preparing personal and business tax returns
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Supporting clients with bookkeeping and general accounting requirements
• Reviewing accounts and work completed by other members of the team
• Managing your own workload and ensuring deadlines are met
• Attending client meetings where required
Requirements of the Practice Accountant job include:
• Previous experience within an UK accountancy practice is essential
• Able to work independently and take ownership of your workload
• Proactive approach with good commercial awareness and common sense
• Comfortable working across a varied client base
• Someone who can think for themselves and identify what needs to be done
• A positive, personable approach and desire to develop a long-term career within practice
