Description
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for designated business areas
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB (German GAAP)
- Perform account reconciliations and support the analysis of financial data
- Prepare and post customer invoices, supplier invoices and intercompany transactions
- Support VAT returns and tax reporting activities
- Manage fixed asset accounting
- Review and post bank transactions and credit card statements
- Assist with payment processing and cash management activities
- Process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies
- Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and analysis
- Participate in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support finance projects
Basic Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a comparable field
- Initial practical experience through internships, working student positions or first professional experience in finance, accounting or auditing
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Knowledge of HGB (German GAAP); IFRS knowledge is a plus
- Basic understanding of VAT and taxation topics
- Strong affinity for systems, digital tools and process optimization
- Experience with ERP systems is an advantage
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Structured and reliable way of working with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility from an early stage
- Very good German and English language skills
