Job Description:
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Civil Site Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. This is a 2:1 FIFO role based in Karratha that rotates through Perth.
You will oversee and manage daily on-site civil construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards within budget and schedule for Hitachi, Ltd.
Key accountabilities:
Supervise and coordinate all civil works on site, including earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, drainage, and paving.
Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations and Hitachi policies on site.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project timelines.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is performed according to specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
Manage and direct site personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, documenting site activities, resource utilization, and any deviations.
Ensure proper handling and storage of materials and equipment on site.
Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
Assist in the resolution of technical issues and challenges that arise during construction.
Required skills and knowledge:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction supervision, preferably in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
Proven knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant local building codes and regulations.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures and best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites.
Problem-solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
