Position Summary:
As the Quality and Improvement Manager you will set the highest standards of compliance to the Rolls-Royce Quality Management System (RRMS) for self, Quality Staff, and the unit. You will drive continuous improvement, develop and deliver training, and build strong customer relationships. As the team lead you will focus on robust non-conformance identification and corrective/preventative action plans as well as coach and mentor Lean Six Sigma methodology and ensure processes and procedures comply with Customer requirements.
What you will be doing:
- Set the highest standards of compliance to the Rolls-Royce Quality Management System (RRMS) for self, Quality Staff, and the Unit
- Ensure processes and procedures comply with all customer specific contractual requirements
- Execute an audit strategy that confirms compliance and supports continuous improvement
- Build strong, dependable relations with Customers, regulators, industry and the other business functions
- Lead the Quality/Inspection team with a focus on robust non-conformance identification, and corrective/preventative action plans
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to ensure product quality. Install effective governance structures where appropriate
- Develop and deliver effective training for the site, including sustaining awareness of quality issues across all employees and leadership
- Drive continuous improvement plan utilizing the principals of the Lean and DMAIC methodologies transforming performance to world class levels
- Coach and mentor the Lean Six Sigma Methodology to deliver significant financial benefits through Yellow Belt, Green Belt and Black Belt projects
- Implement and drive the Rolls-Royce Production System in line with functional accountabilities
- Sponsor improvement projects, implement the problem resolution process and champion best quality practices
Basic Requirements:
- Associate’s degree + 7 years of experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience OR
- Master’s degree + 3 years of experience OR
- JD/PhD OR
- In lieu of a degree, 9 years of experience
- To be considered for this position you must be a US citizen
Preferred:
- Quality Leadership Experience
- Jet Engine Overhaul/Repair experience
- Certified Auditor
- Familiarity with NAMP 4790 requirements
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems
- Experience working Quality in a manufacturing or MRO environment
- Logical thinking skills/problem solving
- Good Communication skills
- Excellent problem solving/analytical skills
- Excellent data management and analytics
- Excellent Communication skills
