Senior Environmental Permitting Project Manager

Join EDGE's Energy Permitting Practice

EDGE is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Permitting Project Manager to support our growing portfolio of energy project development clients across the United States. This position will serve as a technical expert and project management leader responsible for permitting, environmental compliance, and regulatory strategy for major energy infrastructure projects including natural gas pipelines, LNG facilities, compressor stations, electric transmission lines, renewable energy projects, carbon capture facilities, and other FERC-regulated developments.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience navigating complex federal and state environmental permitting requirements, leading multidisciplinary project teams, preparing FERC environmental documentation, and supporting clients through the project development lifecycle—from feasibility and routing studies through permitting, agency coordination, construction, and compliance.

At EDGE, our vision is to become a leader and innovator in the environmental consulting industry. To achieve that goal, we seek ambitious leaders, strategic thinkers, and lifelong learners who are passionate about helping advance critical energy infrastructure while maintaining environmental stewardship and regulatory excellence.

Position Summary

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead environmental permitting and regulatory compliance efforts for energy infrastructure projects throughout the United States. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, manage project teams and subcontractors, coordinate with federal and state agencies, and provide technical leadership on permitting strategies and FERC environmental reviews.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with energy developers, pipeline operators, utilities, and infrastructure investors on some of the nation's most significant energy development projects.

FERC Environmental Documentation

  • Lead preparation of Environmental Resource Reports and supporting technical studies for FERC-regulated projects.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams to develop resource reports addressing wetlands, water resources, cultural resources, land use, vegetation, wildlife, threatened and endangered species, and socioeconomics.
  • Manage data collection, quality review, and integration of technical studies into regulatory filings.

  • Develop scopes of work, proposals, budgets, and cost estimates.
  • Manage project schedules, staffing plans, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Lead client meetings and agency consultations.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of EDGE's Energy Permitting Practice.
  • Support business development and strategic growth initiatives within the energy market sector.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7+ years of environmental permitting and regulatory consulting experience.
