As an FIU Alert Triage Associate, you will have the opportunity to play a critical frontline role in protecting Manulife and its customers from financial crime, money laundering, terrorist financing, and reputational risk. By conducting timely and effective reviews of AML alerts, transactions, and name screening results, you will contribute directly to the FIU’s mission of maintaining a strong compliance program and safeguarding the integrity of our businesses across Canada.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of AML/ATF activities, products, and business lines, providing valuable experience in financial crime risk management while developing investigative, analytical, and regulatory compliance expertise. Position Responsibilities:
Conduct first-pass AML assessments of alerts and transactions to identify irregularities and potential suspicious activity across Manulife Bank and other business segments.
Review initial assessments of daily Name Screening alerts, including Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), sanctions, and country risk alerts, to identify and mitigate potential risk exposure.
Investigate incoming foreign wire transfers and third-party payments on a regular basis, including assessing transaction origin, relationships between parties, and source of funds.
Prepare and submit FINTRAC regulatory reports within prescribed timelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Apply AML guidelines and perform enhanced due diligence for higher-risk clients, including Politically Exposed Persons and other high-risk categories, in accordance with regulatory expectations.
Review Risk-Based Due Diligence reports and create high-risk cases for further review and ongoing monitoring.
Maintain accurate case management, documentation, and record-keeping in accordance with regulatory and audit requirements.
Protect sensitive customer information by adhering to established confidentiality, data security, and data integrity standards.
Provide administrative and operational support to the team as required.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in AML/ATF or a related field.
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g., diploma, associate degree, or certification) in a relevant discipline.
Experience in the banking and/or insurance industry is preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and assess transactional and client data.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy.
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work within tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Experience with AML/ATF case management and reporting systems is considered an asset.
Understanding of AML/ATF regulations is an asset.
Knowledge of Manulife products, processes, and systems is an asset.

Salary range is expected to be between
$43,875.00 CAD - $73,125.00 CADEmployees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
