POSITION FUNCTION:

Under the general supervision of the EVP, Chief Operating Officer, the Business Systems Specialist manages the back-office administration for our core banking application and ancillary related systems. This role works closely with internal departments and key vendors to resolve any deficiencies, assist with integration needs, implement, and test new functionality and generally ensure a quality core banking experience. This position will work closely with our core banking vendor, COCC, as well as work directly with other vendors the bank has integrations with to provide a simple, easy to use experience for our customers and employees. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for understanding the capabilities of our core processing system including existing and proposed products and/or upgrades that have the potential to impact the bank’s various departments.  
  • Lead and/or participate in projects as needed in relation to Insight (system upgrades, new products, bank integrations, new services, etc.). Will also lead other projects that may interface with Insight. Collaborate with various departments to facilitate the implementation through best practice project management techniques. 
  • Actively participate in core processing user groups and ongoing core processing training is required.
  • Assist with maintaining the core system’s parameters including the testing and setting up of new products.
  • Perform application maintenance including resolving incident tickets, troubleshooting issues, workflow design and process change requests.
  • Manage system downtime or issues with COCC; communicate occurrences and resolution timelines to end users.
  • Monitor support cases with COCC to ensure problems are being addressed and escalate issues when needed.  
  • Be the primary contact for vendor management, working directly with all departments in addition to outside vendors.
  • Maintain employee access and permissions to the core system and other ancillary systems by creating, changing, and deleting user accounts upon request.
  • Oversee third party interfaces with the core banking system such as document archiving, online banking, electronic banking, etc.
  • Manage the forms upgrade process through the core, such as updating new versions of forms, programming for e-signatures and archive parameters.
  • Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and processes to continuously improve data quality, process integrity and productivity.
  • Design and optimize workflow processes to increase efficiency and support streamlined operations.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance documentation for system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Will be the system administrator for COCC Insight, CollaborateNOW, iDentifi as well as other systems that integrate with Insight.
  • Act as an internal consultant, advocate, and mentor in relation to the core system.  
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years banking experience required.
  • Excellent knowledge of core banking processing systems as well as related systems; minimum of 2 years of Systems Analyst experience (COCC Insight or Fiserv DNA experience preferred). 
  • Prior experience with reporting software (Crystal Reporting preferred).
  • Project Management experience preferred: Must have strong time management skills and be detailed oriented in interpreting, analyzing, monitoring and reporting information.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively facilitate and manage change.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively complete multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be a self-starter, assume responsibility, display initiative, make and act upon decisions within the scope of assigned authority.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Hand dexterity required to operate computer terminal and/or related equipment.
  • Eye coordination required to operate computer terminal.
  • Drives to and attends meetings.
  • Moves around bank, between levels or floors while performing duties.
  • Lifts supply boxes and places in storage areas.
  • Sitting at desk or computer work station for periods of time.
  • Travels to bank facilities/other locations on regular basis.
  • Lifts books, files, records, etc.
  • Walks around bank location in the performance of job duties.
  • Speaks and listens to customers and explains bank services
