Job Responsibilities:

The individual is accountable for the timely availability of supplied-material, service items and maintenance items required by the production and supply schedules; and in conformance to specified quantities, engineering levels, design standards, functionality, geometry, performance and features.

The individual is responsible for scheduling and expediting supplied material delivery for all inbound materials required in production, service items and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSI BILITIES

           

  • Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies
  • Understand and promote the Cosma Way philosophies and the Magna Employee Charter
  • Monitor MRP (Forecasts, Stock on hand, customer demand, production schedule, inventory transactions and reject material);
  • Plan, Forecast, Schedule and Release supplied material demands to meet our production requirements;
  • Follow-up and expedite the material receiving;
  • Follow-up and validate carrier appointments (specified carrier arrival times to avoid excess traffic density);
  • Special project and campaign assignments, tasks and duties as assigned by management from time to time.
  • Use ERP System (QAD) as the Primary means of creating, monitoring and communicating schedules, inventory quantities, releases and forecasts.
  • Forecast Raw Material to all suppliers (mill sources, processors, blankers, etc.)
  • Generate and Send regular Raw Material releases to all suppliers
  • Ensure continual material flow into all required locations
  • Maintain proper lean inventory levels on all raw materials in accordance to process capabilities
  • Monitor and ensure inventory accuracy of raw material throughout the system
  • Monitor Raw Material usage and utilization of all Tier 2 Suppliers using Resale Steel
  • Analyze yield and variances for Raw Material consumption
  • Track Scrap and Off-fall for all parts and blanks produced
  • Support Kamtek initiatives concerning 5S, Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen
  • Monitor Supplier Performance for all Raw Material Suppliers
  • Evaluate corrective actions put in place at suppliers to support Raw Material delivery
  • Process returns to vendors for all defective or non-conforming material
  • Follow proper Materials Management procedures
  • Accomplish all work assignments as directed by management personnel
  • Promote good housekeeping
  • Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Post Secondary Education or Associates Degree in business administration or certified 2 year training program for the material scheduling profession. 
  • Four years verifiable work experience in same profession is acceptable in lieu of formal education.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project & Visio)

  • Decision making abilities to create a win, win, win situation in support of the three legged stool (Customer, Investor, People)
  • Demonstrates strong computer skills in office software applications, (word processing, presentations and spreadsheets), and proficient in the use of Enterprise Data Management systems (SAP, GRMS etc).
  • Ability to work to deadlines and multiple demands.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
  • Customer Service Oriented.
  • Willing to work overtime to meet customer need.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within team environment.
  • Reading, analyzing and interpreting the MRP system, inventory transactions and procedures in compliance with the Corporate Management System.

Proficient in:

  • Spoken and written word;
  • Electronic Communication Means (telephone, fax, video conferencing, web conferencing, etc);
  • Communication across cultural and physical boundaries;
  • Communication free of vulgarity, profanity, hearsay and menace.

Ability to:

  • Write correspondence and speak effectively before members of the management team, customers, and employees;
  • Present information and respond to questions from vendors and production personnel.

The main language proficiency shall be in the English language, with an ability to communicate in a second language (preferably Spanish or German) being an advantage.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Proficient in:

  • Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions;
  • The Metric and Imperial Measurement System;
  • Data Analysis and statistical techniques.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and offer reasonable solutions towards corrective action.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

- The work environment is primarily office and includes manufacturing plant

- The environment is high pressure and requires extreme accuracy and attention to detail

- The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with team members, leaders, customers and suppliers

- Overtime as required

CORPORATE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CMS)

The Company is governed by compliance to a Corporate Management System, prescribing the objectives and procedures related to Employees, Shareholders, Customers, Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental concerns, Preservation of Energy and Corporate Citizenship.  Public compliance to the CMS is demonstrated through certification to specific national and international standards (TS/ISO 16949, 14000, etc) either by our customers or external authorities in Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety and Corporate Governance.  Certification is preceded by internal and external audits to measure compliance to the documented CMS.

Every Manager is required to support all organizational efforts in the area of CMS compliance directly related to their area of responsibility.  It is further required to: regularly review and understand changes to the CMS; oversee any required changes and or updates to the relevant works instructions; and promote and maintain CMS compliance at all times.
