Job Description:
Responsibilities:
● Schedule office and/or hospital procedures per physician
recommendation.
● Excellent customer service skills with patients, their families and members of the healthcare team is a must.
● Must be able to respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner.
● Must be organized and be able to manage demanding workload with accuracy.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Facilitate appropriate communication with the scheduling team to balance procedures and office visits.
Obtain and monitor authorizations for procedures
● Compile Physician Schedules. Coordinate Resources (Anesthesia, Radiology, Equipment, etc.) Work in tandem with the authorizations department to ensure procedures are authorized. Work with electronic medical records. Help patients navigate through appointments to ensure all proper clearances have been obtained. Maintain relationships with various surgical facilities. Collect CPT and ICD Coding .
Obtain necessary medical clearances/ blood work/ imaging needed for procedure compliance.
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
● Minimum of a High School Diploma (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) and 1-3 years of experience in healthcare scheduling or equivalent combination of education and experience. Medical Assistant certification (a plus).
● Bilingual: Spanish/English a plus.
Previous insurance and authorization experience is a plus.
● Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
● Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff and other healthcare professionals.
