SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for daily drop off and pick up of barrels for food drives, other driving tasks and deliveries as needed and occasional product selection/general assistance in warehouse.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Responsible for daily noting of mileage and vehicle conditions in vehicle log and related registers as required by N.Y.S.D.O.T;
- Responsible for proper care and operation of vehicle, and reporting of issues to Warehouse management;
- Primary responsibility for delivering and picking up barrels and other supportive materials to businesses, non-profits, community centers, private residences, and various other locations as scheduled in cooperation with the Warehouse and Development teams;
- Supports and is backup for Warehouse Assistants and assists with overall warehouse maintenance as barrel schedule and other driving tasks allow;
- Assists warehouse management in special projects as may be needed and requested;
- Ensure excellent communication and customer service with internal and external customers and all in all interactions;
- Assist with any and all mission work as needed and requested with some or no prior notice including, but not limited to: serving as a truck spotter, helping with Farm Market/Community Garden/Freight Farms/on and off-site food distributions, preparation of meals and serving home-delivered meals; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid New York State Driver's license and have a minimum of 2 years driving experience;
- Must possess or obtain a DOT Medical Certification upon hire;
- Must have a history of responsible driving and a clean driving record;
- Must be able to learn how to use and safely operate a truck lift gate, pallet jack and forklift;
- Must be fully literate with four basic math skills; and
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
