POSITION OVERVIEW
The Visual Designer will develop compelling, brand-aligned creative that supports U.S. commercial marketing. The role will work predominantly on the Matrix Fitness brand, with the opportunity to support other Johnson Health Tech brands as business needs evolve. This position is responsible for concept development, design, and production across digital and print channels, including integrated campaigns, email, landing pages, microsites, paid and organic social media, sales and marketing collateral, presentations, product launches, events, trade shows, and facility support materials.
Working closely with U.S. marketing project owners, the Visual Designer will manage assigned work from concept through final production, communicate timelines and capacity, and ensure creative assets adhere to established brand and file-management standards. U.S. Marketing will assign and prioritize projects, while collaboration with global marketing creative team members will support brand consistency, shared best practices, and the appropriate adaptation of global assets for the U.S. market.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Design and Execution:
• Develops, refines, and produces visual concepts and creative assets predominantly for Matrix Fitness across digital and print channels, including campaigns, email, paid and organic social media, landing pages, microsites, sales and marketing collateral, presentations, product launches, events, trade shows, and facility support materials.
• Applies strong judgment in typography, layout, imagery, hierarchy, and channel-specific design to create cohesive brand experiences.
• Presents concepts and design rationale, recommends refinements, incorporates stakeholder feedback, and carries approved work through final production.
Brand Stewardship and Production Quality:
• Serves as a brand steward by consistently applying established brand standards across all creative work and identifying potential inconsistencies before assets are released.
• Prepares accurate, production-ready files and performs quality checks for content placement, specifications, resolution, color, accessibility considerations, and overall brand consistency.
• Reviews printer proofs and attends press checks when needed to confirm production quality.
• Follows established file organization, naming, version control, storage, sharing, and archival standards so creative assets are accurate, accessible, and reusable.
Collaboration and Workflow Management:
• Partners with U.S. marketing project owners to confirm project requirements, deliverables, timelines, and approval needs, while providing timely status updates and raising risks or conflicts that may affect quality or delivery.
• Independently organizes and manages work assigned and prioritized by U.S. Marketing from intake through completion while balancing multiple projects and meeting agreed-upon deadlines.
• Shares visibility into workload, capacity, project status, and recurring workflow challenges to support prioritization and resource planning.
• Collaborates with global marketing creative team members to understand brand direction, exchange best practices, improve consistency, and adapt global assets appropriately for the U.S. market.
• Contributes to a collaborative environment by sharing ideas, providing constructive feedback, and supporting team projects when priorities require.
Professional Knowledge:
• Maintains current knowledge of design practices, digital and social formats, production methods, accessibility considerations, and relevant creative tools.
• Continues to strengthen capabilities in areas relevant to the role, which may include motion, video, digital design, presentation design, and print production.
Marginal Job Functions:

Requirements
Education:
• Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (BFA) in Communication Design, Graphic Design, or similar is required
Experience:
• Three to five years of professional visual or graphic design experience, preferably supporting integrated marketing campaigns or an in-house creative team.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong visual thinking, concept development, typography, layout, and execution across digital and print media.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop; experience with presentation design and related creative tools.
• Motion or video design experience is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain creative choices to non-design stakeholders.
• Agency experience is a plus
• Occasional domestic travel may be required
Other Requirements:
• A valid driver’s license is required for local travel

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach above the shoulders, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Designers must have an accurate vision and have the ability to discriminate subtle visual information. This position will require working on-site. The employee will primarily work in a typical professional office environment using a phone and computer for extended periods. Occasional visits to warehouses, showrooms, events, or other businesses may be required.
