Are you ready to reimagine the way we help customers?
CommSee 2.0 is CBA’s strategic internal platform supporting over 30,000 frontline colleagues across multiple business units and you will be helping shape the future of assisted banking at CBA. We are on a journey to rebuild CommSee, focused on creating a more modern, integrated servicing experience that simplifies frontline workflows, reduces operational complexity and provides colleagues with a stronger view of the customer.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join the CommSee team.
This is a hands-on product design role, embedded in a cross-functional squad. You’ll work closely with product owners/managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deeply understand user and business problems, explore opportunities, and deliver outcomes that improve customer experiences and commercial performance.
You’ll lead design from early discovery through to delivery, balancing strategic thinking with practical execution.
This role suits someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys shaping direction, questions established ways of working and is constantly looking for better ways to solve problems and deliver outcomes.
You’ll thrive here if you’re energized by complex systems, enjoy tackling tough challenges and can thoughtfully influence and challenge stakeholders to reach the best outcomes for users.
Our Approach
We are actively evolving how we design, using emerging technologies including AI to accelerate learning, explore possibilities and improve the quality of our work. We value designers who are curious, experimental and willing to continually adapt their practice. Joining a recently formed crew, you will help shape our design practices and play a role in helping to define our methodologies and ways of working.
Key Responsibilities

Partner closely with product and engineering to frame problems, explore opportunities and define outcomes.
Define, plan and conduct discovery activities such as user research, interviews, testing, and data-informed exploration to uncover insights and validate direction.
Translate insights into clear design concepts, experience flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-quality UI that support delivery.
Iterate designs based on feedback, testing, and learnings, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
Contribute to product strategy by articulating experience vision, identifying opportunities and influencing prioritisation.
Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, and design to build alignment and momentum.
Experiment with AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies across the design process, using them thoughtfully to accelerate discovery, synthesis, exploration, prototyping and delivery.
Continuously evolve your design process, identifying new tools, methods and ways of working that improve team effectiveness and product outcomes.
Champion strong design practice, user-centred thinking and continuous learning within the squad.
What You Will Bring
Proven experience delivering end-to-end product design in a cross-functional product team balancing continuously discovery and iterative delivery.
Strong skills in discovery, problem framing, and translating insights into meaningful product outcomes.
Curiosity and fluency with AI-enabled design workflows, or a demonstrated ability and appetite to rapidly adopt new tools and ways of working.
A learning mindset, with evidence of evolving your practice as technologies, user expectations and product development methods change.
Experience conducting and synthesising user research using appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods.
Strong interaction design, information architecture and prototyping skills, with experience simplifying complex workflows and systems.
Ability to work through ambiguity and help teams move from uncertainty to clarity.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
Comfort working autonomously in an evolving environment.
Sound judgement about where AI can accelerate the design process and where human judgement, research and craft remain essential.
