Job Purpose

The Head of Banijay UK Social Studio will lead the Banijay UK Social Studios 15-person team, consisting of editors, producers, rights management and senior producers. The role will be responsible for defining and delivering the departments strategy in line with editorial, creative and commercial goals. The department covers three main functions, the optimisation of Banijay UK’s extensive archive, the creation of new digital original content and the production of marketing campaigns. The position relies upon excellent communication skills – working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, and other key external partners. Additionally, the role requires a strong and thorough understanding of digital metrics and platform analytics and an ability to translate insights into actionable workflows for the Banijay UK Social Studio team.

Duties

• Overseeing Banijay UK Social Studio team output and working with Senior Producers to ensure appropriate resourcing across projects
• Monitor and interpret department data to create actionable insights for the team, and presenting and translating data to senior stakeholders
• Ownership of the Social Studio Budget
• Working collaboratively with other business areas to align Banijay UK Social Studio output to necessary business requirements (e.g. production teams, legal team, commercial team and finance)
• Actively identifying ways to maximise the Banijay UK Social Studio team’s success and growth
• Act as the point person for all high-level communication with Banijay’s senior leadership team, production labels, broadcasters and social media platforms 
• Having a top-level understanding of rights and compliance restrictions across BUK IPs as required
• Working to maintain a creative and collaborative working environment for the Banijay UK Social Studio team
• Ensuring the wider departmental strategy is communicated to the Banijay UK Social Studio team 
• Line management of Senior Producers

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven senior level experience devising and running large-scale creative social strategies against both editorial and financial KPIs
• Extensive team and people management experience
• Ability to interpret social media data and insights and translate into meaningful learnings and recommendations to inform strategies.
• Ability to educate and influence non digitally native stakeholders at all levels of the business
• Large scale budget management experience
• Working knowledge of the social media monetisation industry and digital rights
• Deep understanding of digital platforms and how to reach a diverse range of audiences
• Demonstrable success in building online brands and nurturing the digital presence of linear TV content
• Strong network within the digital industry, including social platforms 

Reporting To: Director of Communications

Contract Type: Full time, fixed term contract (12 months FTC, maternity cover)

Hours: 9:30am – 6:00pm
