The Lead for Health Security will play a pivotal role in driving PATH’s strategic initiatives under health security portfolio ensuring effective implementation, coordination, and advocacy at the National and State levels. This position requires a dynamic professional with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects. One Health, Anti-Microbial Resistance / Stewardship, Strengthening Disease Surveillance including Zoonotic and Pandemic preparedness are the current focus areas of Global Health Security at PATH and not limited to the aforesaid areas.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership and Technical Oversight
- Provide technical guidance and strategic direction for health security projects, ensuring alignment with national priorities and donor requirements.
- Oversee design, implementation, and evaluation of interventions across surveillance, preparedness, and response domains.
- Ensure quality assurance and continuous improvement in technical deliverables, including guidelines, SOPs, and capacity-building frameworks.
2. Project Management and Implementation
- Lead day-to-day operations of assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and compliance with donor and organizational standards.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, work plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Supervise and mentor project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Representation
- Serve as the primary liaison with donors, government officials (national and state), and other partners.
- Represent PATH in high-level meetings, technical forums, and policy dialogues at state and national levels.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships to advance health security goals.
4. Proposal Development and Resource Mobilization
- Lead development of high-quality proposals, concept notes, and donor reports.
- Identify funding opportunities and contribute to strategic planning for portfolio expansion.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
- Oversee development and implementation of robust M&E frameworks to track progress and impact.
- Ensure timely reporting and dissemination of learnings through knowledge products, case studies, and presentations.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Requirements
- Essential: Master’s in public health, Epidemiology, Health Management, or related field.
- Preferred: Medical or allied health degree (MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS) with MPH or equivalent.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in public health program management, preferably in health security, surveillance, or emergency preparedness.
- Proven experience in proposal writing, donor coordination, and multi-stakeholder engagement.
- Strong background in project implementation, budgeting, and team leadership.
- Experience of working with the National and State Government Health Officials
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth understanding of India’s public health system and health security frameworks.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to represent the organization at high-level forums and build strategic partnerships.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with data visualization tools is an asset.
