Objective of the position:
The Daimler Truck Mexico Engineering Center (DTMEC) focuses on creating exceptional products that are attractive and add value for our customers by meeting their unique requirements. We are a fast moving and rewarding product development group responsible for integrating new products and supporting current products. We work directly with our sales, manufacturing, and field service teams in order to get our customer's trucks on the road and keep them working efficiently around the world.

As a member of DTMEC, you will collaborate with Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) in the Vocational CPE area, providing engineering solutions that are creative, technically-feasible, high quality and with a holistic approach while adhering to DTNA Engineering standards, procedures, and strategic directions. You will also contribute to the strategic plan to shift Current Product Engineering (CPE) activities from DTNA Engineering to DTMEC..

Indispensable Requirements (Candidates who do not meet these requirements may be discarded):

• Continuous improvement knowledge mandatory.
•  Product development experience preferred but not Mandatory
•  CAD system knowledge, NX experience preferred
• Product Lifecycle Management platforms experience preferred.
• English level: Intermediate

Academic Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required.

Main Functions:

- Current Product Engineering: Assignment of Vocational Chassis modules/systems for current products. Review and close Custom work orders for non-standard customer requests with a holistic approach, and asses the need for a design modification or engineering review in order to ensure the specified requirements of the truck sales order are met.

- Current Product Maintenance: Support engineering changes by creating or updating drawings, bills of material, design charts and 3D models occasionally as part of the maintenance activities for current product, using DTNA's product structure, documentation processes and CAD/PLM platforms such as NX, IMACS, IMACS+, ERS+, SMARAGD.

- Product development: Complete assigned engineering tasks such as creating or updating 3D models & drawings, bills of material, design charts, for minor and low complexity New Product projects, such that they meet established scope, quality, cost and timing to consistently achieve a high level of customer's satisfaction.

- Problem Solving: Provide countermeasures and recurrence prevention in a timely manner while applying problem solving technics to all engineering/design issues reported by the truck manufacturing plants. Keep the solutions aligned with DTNA engineering standards and promote an Agility culture within DTMEC. - Process Standardization and Documentation: Create/update/improve current product engineering standard processes applicable to Vocational trucks and create/update/ and improve the technical information documentation for mid-chassis components. Ensure the standard process library is up to date an well organized

- Continuous Improvement: Develop and Implement Continuous Improvement initiatives targeting the CPE activities, design optimization, engineering process in the assigned area of responsibility, with the goal of contributing to the Continuous Improvement culture within DTMEC and to meet customer's expectations by aiming for operational excellence

- Communication: Maintain close communication with DTNA Engineering via e-mail, conference calls, design reviews, etc., to assure alignment and engineering activities remain on track. Provide frequent status reports to DTMEC Engineering management to ensure the strategic objectives of the DTMEC Powertrain & Chassis CPE Group are met..
