Purpose of the role

To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It's the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of client relationships to identify the clients financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance to support the analysis of data obtained from various sources, including the investment portfolio and cash flow, to identify trends, insights, areas for improvement and additional services to support client needs.
  • Research and understanding of the client's industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Design of customised solutions that address the client's specific needs and objectives, incorporating a range of products and services from the bank's portfolio.
  • Communication of the value proposition of proposed solutions, justification of recommendations, and negotiation of terms that are beneficial for both the client and the bank.
  • Provision of guidance to clients to support their financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management and wealth management strategies support, and updates on market trends to ensure a positive and continuous relationship.
  • Assessment of financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships, and implementation of measures to minimise potential losses.
  • Documentation of all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability, and communicate findings effectively to support product development, service offerings, and the overall bank strategy.
  • Monitoring of client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.

They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Join Barclays as an International Corporate Banking Coverage AVP. In this role, you will build and maintain trusted relationships with multinational corporate clients in Power/ Utilities / Renewables sector, developing a deep understanding of their business strategies, financing requirements, treasury priorities, and international banking needs. You will partner with senior coverage bankers and product specialists to deliver tailored corporate banking solutions across lending, liquidity, trade finance, foreign exchange, and debt financing. Leveraging financial analysis, credit experience, and market insights, you will guide client relationships, support origination efforts, identify cross-selling opportunities, and help deliver notable client outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of collaboration.

To be successful as an International Corporate Banking Coverage AVP, you should have experience with:

  • Corporate Banking Coverage or Relationship Management at a global or international financial institution

  • Guiding relationships with large corporate and multinational clients, supporting financing, treasury, and working capital solutions

  • Performing financial statement evaluation, credit underwriting, risk assessment, and preparing credit approval memoranda, client presentations, and relationship review materials

  • Coordinating product partners across Transaction Banking, Trade & Working Capital, Foreign Exchange, Debt Capital Markets, and Investment Banking to deliver integrated client solutions

  • Supporting new business origination and execution of corporate lending and financing transactions

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience in Power/ Utilities / Renewables sector

  • Demonstrated experience guiding client relationships and supporting cross-border banking solutions in a fast-paced environment

  • Understanding of corporate credit, capital structure, financial risk analysis, and international banking products

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence clients, senior stakeholders, and internal partners

  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities while working collaboratively across Coverage, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Product teams

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is located in New York, NY

Minimum Salary 105,000 USD

Maximum Salary 160,000 USD

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
