Heavy Equipment Technician
Responsible for repairs and maintenance on large construction equipment.
Pay: $32 - $45 an hour.
The typical DAY shift is Monday-Friday (Saturdays as needed) 7am-3:30pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis and repair transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical and hydraulic components associated with heavy construction equipment in a field environment.
- Utilize a laptop computer for information and diagnostic purposes for the safe assembly and disassembly of components.
- Write and complete service reports.
- Participate in company training programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This position is focusing on Heavy equipment, this will also include trucks, trailers and small construction equipment as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Use hand tools, air tools, test equipment, powered shop tools, and overhead crane.
- Operation of a variety of types of equipment
- Diagnosis and repair of diesel engines
- Maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of equipment electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair aftertreatment systems
- Hydraulic troubleshooting
- Use of hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
- Crane knowledge a plus
- Ability to properly document work completed
- Desire to take on new challenges
- Willingness to work on a variety of equipment in both the shop and field environment
