Lead the Risk Monitoring, Analytics & Assurance pillar and oversee the execution of customer risk monitoring, transaction monitoring, annual reviews, quality assurance, risk analytics, governance reporting, audit and regulatory remediation, and continuous improvement initiatives.Provide leadership, technical guidance, and oversight to ensure effective management of financial crime risks, strong control effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Support Customer Due Diligence Operations activities as required to meet business priorities, operational demands, and business continuity needs.
1.Risk Monitoring & Investigation
- Lead the review and disposition of Ongoing Name Screening Alerts, Ongoing Customer Risk Rating Alerts, and Transaction Monitoring Alerts, ensuring timely investigation, escalation, and closure in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and established service levels.
- Oversee ongoing customer risk monitoring, transaction monitoring, and periodic customer risk reassessment activities.
- Review complex, high-risk, or escalated alerts, investigations, and customer reviews, including cases involving sanctions, PEPs, adverse media, suspicious activities, or elevated financial crime risks.
- Monitor risk trends, alert volumes, aging, backlogs, service levels, and emerging financial crime risks, and recommend appropriate corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure timely identification, escalation, and resolution of suspicious activities, control weaknesses, data quality issues, and other financial crime risk concerns.
- Support the enhancement of monitoring methodologies, investigation procedures, and alert management processes to improve control effectiveness and operational efficiency.
2.Annual Reviews & Ongoing Due Diligence
- Manage annual reviews of high-risk customers and periodic customer reviews.
- Review customer risk assessments and recommendations relating to continuation of business relationships.
- Oversee remediation activities arising from customer reviews.
3.Quality Assurance & Control Effectiveness
- Lead quality assurance reviews, thematic reviews, and control assessments.
- Identify control gaps, process weaknesses, and root causes.
- Drive corrective actions and validate remediation effectiveness.
4.Analytics, Reporting & Governance
- Oversee preparation of KRIs, dashboards, management information, and committee reporting.
- Analyze trends and provide insights to support risk management and decision-making.
- Support governance forums, regulatory reporting, and management reviews.
5.Audit, Regulatory & Project Management
- Lead remediation of audit findings, regulatory actions, and quality assurance issues.
- Manage AML-related projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
- Monitor implementation progress and stakeholder commitments.
6.Cross-Functional AML Support
- Provide oversight and support for customer due diligence activities, including screening reviews, customer risk assessments, enhanced due diligence ,FATCA/CRS reviews, triggering event reviews, and other AML operational activities.
- Support workload balancing, business continuity, regulatory change implementation, and cross-pillar initiatives.
- Promote consistent application of AML and customer due diligence standards across both pillars.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics ora related discipline.
- Preferably with relevant certifications such as:
a.CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist)
b.ICA (International Compliance Association) certifications
- 5–7+ years of progressive experience in AML / Financial Crime Operations, Customer Due Diligence / Enhanced Due Diligence, AML Transaction Monitoring and Screening, Risk Operations, or related functions.
- Experience conducting investigations involving high-risk customers, PEPs, adverse media, and complex ownership structures.
- Knowledge of AML, sanctions, FATCA/CRS, and related regulatory requirements.
- Experience in quality assurance, audit and regulatory remediation, risk analytics, management reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in AML systems, screening platforms, case management tools, and data analytics solutions.
- Experience working within a regulated financial services environment, preferably in insurance, banking, wealth management, or fintech.
