What You Will Do

As a Technical Writer/Editor for Raytheon, you will develop hardware and software technical documentation for end-user operation, assembly, and maintenance of the Patriot Missile System. This role will support the Patriot program developing MIL-STD 40051 XML compliant technical manuals delivered in the Interactive and Display Software (IADS) viewer. You will create and tag XML updates into the existing Patriot technical manual library and interface with the Technical Manual team. The individual will work with other technical writers, interpreting logistic information and engineering data to collect and document systems architecture and develop applicable support technical manuals while using Raytheon systems and tools.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Update technical manual data in MIL-STD 40051 XML

  • Create Interactive Active Display Software (IADS) deliverables

  • Develop procedures for electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment

  • Working with technical illustrator personnel in support of publication effort


Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelors degree in English, Communication, Education or related major obtained by start date

  • Experience/education with technical writing, interpretation of technical documentation

  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects


Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience working in a cross-functional team, with a strong ability to communicate effectively within a geographically dispersed team

  • Sound analytical, problem identification, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working with XML/SGML/HTML, experience using Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
