Description

Under the direction of the Deputy Director of the Resource Center, the Resource Center Coordinator is responsible for the administration of Resource Center services, activities, and operations, which include the entirety of the Court’s Resource Center programming, both juvenile court operations and management functions.

Hours:   10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with earlier and later hours as needed to meet Court needs•Program Administration (including staff supervision) and quality assurance oversight of the Resource Center Programs.
•Training, compliance, planning, and monitoring for Resource Center Case Managers or Specialists.
•Oversight and implementation of best-practices and evidence-based interventions to fidelity ensuring maximized opportunities and outcomes.
•Prepares and maintains required statistical and outcome measure reports for quality improvement and resource allocation.
•Assist Deputy Director of the Resource Center in establishing Resource Center goals and outcomes, including enhancing and maintaining effective means to measure overall work unit and team member productivity and performance.
•Direct service, supervision, mentoring and intervention to youth/families participating in one or more of the Resource Center Services.
•Acts as an intermediary between stakeholders/families and members of the Resource Center team.
•Resolves and addresses conflict internally and externally at the direction of the Deputy Director, in a manner which will reflect favorably on the Court and County Government.
•Ability to take calls from staff members, after-hours (as scheduled), as it relates to evaluating a youth’s need for secure placement in detention.
•Assess youth and their family/caregivers and make appropriate referrals to community resources.
•Attend required court hearings and prepared required written reports.
•Have knowledge of applicable ORC and local standard operating procedures, court rules and general procedures.
•Conduct OYAS assessments and facilitate evidence-based interventions.
•Prepare and submit all required program and quality oversight reports in advance of deadlines.
•Maintain detailed and effective case specific notes.
•Conduct searches of the youth, youth’s property and home when deemed appropriate and necessary.
•Make arrests of youth under the jurisdiction of the juvenile court according to ORC and Fairfield County policy and procedure.
•Conduct drug screens.
•Monitor electronic surveillance.
•Provide community-based educational, recreational, and/or skill development activities at the Resource Center.
•Coordinate and organize community vendors and educators for Reporting Services Programming
•Reliable and regular attendance.
•Share and communicate relevant information with Resource Center team.
•Fulfill all other duties and responsibilities as set forth by Judge Vandervoort.
•Complete any other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director of the Resource Center and other members of the management team. 

  • Minimum Undergraduate Degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, Social Work or a related field or five years relevant experience in a juvenile justice setting
  • Ability to work with difficult people, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 
  • Five (5) years of experience in related position will be considered in lieu of education requirements
  • Valid Driver's License

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting files, supplies, basic daily office items/equipment.
Must be of physical condition to detain and/or arrest youth when necessary. Able to independently drive a vehicle, access public building and private homes.

Sound judgement in decision-making and exceptional boundaries related to confidential information
Ability to anticipate and use intuition, judgment, organizational knowledge, motivational techniques, and personal leadership to meet Court needs
